Preparing For Your Appointment

Preparing For Your Appointment

This is a checklist to better help you prepare for your service appointment.
  • Do not schedule other vendors on the same day as your appointment, especially if they need to work in the vicinity of the areas to be reglazed.
  • Most of your unit’s remodeling should be completed prior to your appointment, especially, wall and ceiling repairs, painting, floor installation, re-tiling, re-grouting, etc.
  • Ensure that there is electricity in the unit and running water. If electricity is not available in the unit, you’re responsible of setting up the area with lighting and leaving extension cords already connected to the power supply, be it to a nearby unit or maintenance/laundry room. We are not responsible of finding a source of water or electricity, please ensure this is available in the unit before we arrive.
  • Ensure that there are no plumbing leaks of any kind. All shower heads, overflows, faucets, valves, lever handles, spouts, etc. should be fixed and leak free.
  • If you’re planning on replacing the shower doors and tracks, faucets, spouts or overflows, these should be removed prior to your appointment to ensure that the surface underneath is fully repaired and reglazed before your new fixtures are installed. We can remove these for you for a small fee. Please note that if they are removed afterward, you risk a size mismatch that might not hide the surface that was not refinished underneath, and you also risk damaging the new finish.
  • If your shower has sliding doors, we often need to remove them to allow us more room to work (not including the door tracks), and normally we don’t put them back because the glaze is fresh and we could damage it. After the glaze is cured, you or your handyman can put them back in place.
Additional Instructions for Occupied Units:
  • Make sure that there is no one in the area when the glaze is being sprayed and for minimally 4 hours afterward. This especially applies to the elderly, children, persons with disabilities, convalescents and individuals with respiratory conditions. If you find that the smell is too strong take the proper precautions to stay out of your residence for a longer period of time. Highly sensitive people should make arrangements to sleep somewhere else to allow the fumes to clear.
  • All Pets should be removed from your residence before your reglazing appointment. They can be highly sensitive to the chemicals used. Additionally, we may need to run the exhaust hose through the doorway or nearby window, and you run the risk of your pet running away. You are responsible of ensuring the safety of your pet!
  • Bathrooms: Remove all personal items from the area that will be reglazed such as bottles and toiletries, shower caddies, scrubs, toothbrushes, make-up, shaving tools, razor blades, etc.
  • Kitchens: Countertops and sinks should be cleared of dishes, cutlery, dish racks, small appliances, etc. Fruit and any other edibles should be properly stored in your refrigerator or in sealed containers.

Be advised that a re-scheduling fee may apply if we need to return to complete the order if your unit is not fully ready.
